Design and standard go together

Fire pump selection involves more than flow and pressure. Identify the specified standard and edition, authority requirements and insurance conditions. NFPA 20 addresses stationary fire pump selection and installation. A reference to NFPA 20 on a product page does not establish suitability for every project or separate UL/FM certification.

Specify the complete system

Main, standby where required, jockey pump, electric or diesel drivers and controllers follow the project arrangement. Water source, suction conditions, pump room and test provisions affect scope. Configurations differ, so do not assume a general catalogue image represents the exact package offered.

Request documents and acceptance criteria

Specify performance curves, driver data, required documents, test scope and commissioning responsibilities in the quotation. Standard compliance, product certification and system acceptance are separate matters. This guide is not a design specification; final selection and installation must be verified by the responsible qualified project team against the applicable requirements.

Let’s select the right product.

Your contact information and a short description are enough to start. Add flow, head, fluid and quantity if known; we can clarify the rest together.
