Passage geometry and operating conditions
Venturi traps use the properties of condensate and steam together with a shaped flow passage. Instead of the moving shut-off mechanism of a conventional mechanical trap, the selected nozzle arrangement is central to performance. Connection size or steam-main pressure alone is insufficient; actual trap operating conditions are needed.
Specify load and backpressure together
Assess start-up and running condensate loads separately. Discharge to atmosphere and discharge into a pressurised return line produce different conditions. Provide minimum load, inlet pressure, return pressure and elevation difference. Verify Eco Flow model and nozzle selection against manufacturer capacity data across this range.
Include field verification
Do not assume an identical saving at every plant. Record existing losses and production conditions, then compare drainage and steam consumption under equivalent conditions after a change. Absence of a moving mechanism does not remove strainer cleaning or periodic performance checks. Assess variable-load processes individually.
Let’s select the right product.
Consider nominal size, pressure class, fluid, temperature, connection and actuation together. Refer to the technical catalogue for suitable materials and operating limits.
