Use the dynamic water level
Static level measured with the pump stopped can differ from the dynamic level during operation. Use the operating scenario in the head calculation. Well depth alone does not determine pump pressure. Include outlet pressure and pipe losses, and verify that the well can sustain the requested flow.
Pump–motor compatibility
Check motor diameter, mounting interface, power, speed, axial load and electrical supply together. The same nominal inch size does not guarantee compatibility. Water flow past the motor must satisfy the manufacturer’s cooling requirements. A cooling sleeve may be needed depending on the well and installation geometry.
Cable and protection are part of selection
Long cables require voltage-drop and starting checks. Cable sizing depends on length and installation as well as motor power. Design dry-run, phase and overload protection appropriately. Well diameter, water analysis, sand content, dynamic level and line length make a selection request more useful.
